According to the General Law on Volunteering, it is the work or activity carried out without profit, free of charge and without links or contractual responsibilities. Volunteering includes activities of general interest to the population, such as: welfare, social services, civic, training, cultural, scientific, sports, health, development cooperation, environmental advocacy, economics or research activities, development of associative life, promotion of volunteering, and others of a similar nature, aimed at the common good.

In the case of our institution, the Metropolitan Planning Institute, the experience of volunteering has allowed to develop a series of studies in areas such as environment, citizen security, equipment and public infrastructure, among others.
